That wasnt just a little pressure that pulled that awning down....he was going at least 15 if not 20 miles per hour in at least a 3500 pound truck with a 5-6000lb load on the back which is basically a spring loaded bulet when it runs into something like that......I took out the shaded parking at an apt I was moving into one time with a UHaul, via "grandmas attic" but this is just too funny, up until you read his 10 year old son was in the car.......imagine trying to get driving lessons from dad after this!!!

Looks like there's no under support on the one portion of the ceiling, just relying on the areas closer to the camera to hold it up..

I think he was just trying to drive around the building. Hence his speed. To bad his dumbass wasn't being careful. He hit it pretty hard and I don't question why it fell down. Physics, people. 

Absolutely pathetic structure. Whoever approved that overhang should be, at the very least, fired. The only weight-supporting structures were the two brick pillars. By forgoing an outer set of pillars, the overhang should have been cantilevered into the main building. It obviously was not, as the pictures clearly show. The first truss probably attached to outside wall with a set of 10 cent metal hangers. From the pictures and video, this looks like the equivalent of balancing the trusses and roof for a single story home on a pair of 8 inch concrete block posts--10 feet high. STUPID and INADEQUATE to say the least.

Also, the driver is an idiot. 

those were not just stone pillars but looks to have some kind of steel in them like most pillars do and if that is the case a small steel I beam would hold that plenty well 

I had no idea we had so many formally trained structural engineers on our board that can determine the weakness of a structure from a single vantage point from a fish eye lens in an atm machine! Can you tell me what shape the pipes are in under the bathroom floor too? I would like to hire all of you on a consultant basis please..

No- we need to add legislation to the existing building code, maybe a Congressional Hearing too. Remember, we have to dumb down everything to the lowest common denominator which now means buildings must survive camper trailer strikes.

okay peoples, that's not a redneck truck. that truck cost about 45000. that trailer about the same if not more. That guy has money. That Trailer weighs about 13,000lbs and that truck weighs about 8,000. 22,000ilbs is allot of weight for that building to stop.

I had no idea ATMs existed anymore? I don't even know where my atm card is. It's been since at least 2001 since I've used it. What can you do with $280 anyway (max withdrawl, because of what back then was $1.50 fee, now lord what is it prolly like $7 to use?). That was what would always piss me off, you'd take out $280 on a Friday, and need money on Sunday and couldn't get any more out of the atm b/c the entire weekend counted as a day, wtf?

Amex is the only way to do anything. If the place won't take amex then cash.
