Is that an egg full of blood? Is this CGI? I'm confused.

This thing cut off too early to see the 40 gallons of blood that exploded out of each half of the egg.
Agreed, Basho. We demand to see a sword actually cutting dynamite.

i thought tehred be more i was a little disapointed.
Was that a giant ostrich egg or what? I still like the Japanese video of the goldfish better today.
Slower The Dynamite
My hopes were high. And they were shattered, right after the egg.
An egg... why?

that was about as fun as watching paint dry
Yah eggs are for breakfast, not for slicing. I was hoping I was going to see a sword and later a burn victim.
Dynamite?
Dynamite?

More of what? The 53 seconds of a egg splitting apart or more than 22 seconds of the katana?
Im with Mattdub, but with less curse words.
That was the hotness.

Wow. Comparing how fast the sword is moving to how long it takes for gravity to take visible effect on the egg, you can tell that was a hella fast ninja slice.
I like the tomato one... it has that I-cut-you-but-so-cleanly-you-can't-tell-until-you-slide-apart badassocity to it.

I like the one with the tea in the plastic bottle cause they show the real-time speed first which is quicker than a person usually blinks. I'm guessing that not only do these guys have high speed cameras but they really know how to handle the weapon.
An egg... why?
They used an egg to demonstrate the speed and cleanliness of the cut. Also to show how sharo the blade is. Think, if half of us were to try this it would like like we hit the egg with a hammer. Only someone skilled with that sword could cut an egg so cleanly that the shell didn't even shatter. Rather it sliced through it, making two almost perfectly cut pieces of egg shell.

You must be in the suck half. What's it like over there?
Thats so effin cool. I would love to see the egg shell and how cleanly it cut.
The tomato is by far the best one, the green tea was meh. Any more of these?

I love super slow motion. The item being sliced could have been a little more interesting, but it's cool to see any action being slowed down that much.
At least this is one area which video can't compete in. Super slow motion is still only capable with film.

'Spose that all depends on your video equipment...

Cool slow-mo stuff.
Cool slow-mo stuff.
Half-way through the video I had to come back here to read the comments. Because if an iguana popped out at the end ...
how fast was that camera? like 90fps?
Now imagine that with a human head.
screw the camera, how fast was that ninja, 90-round-house kicks per second?
Is it just me, or does the person's arm appear to be moving at a slower frame rate? It's almost like for every 10 frames of the egg moving, the arm moves one frame.
Music might help that little clip. I am thinking mad world, or maybe mahna mahna. Either would make it more entertaining.

not just you.
i want it to be real!
fragments of shell glinting in the light as they spin!
It was a shame for me to have to kill that ninja...his family...and 12 of his ninja friends...for slicing the last egg in my refrigerator.
Find hungry samurai.
that sword was NOT sharp enough IMO. there should have been no cracking in the egg shell. just a clean cut.
egg + blade is NOT part of your proper balanced breakfast.
the ancient Ninja art of using high speed cameras.

I think that's just an archive of the youtube compression.
An egg?.....feh...I wanna see it chopping off a limb of some sorry ninja in slow mo....
That would be awesome.
That would be awesome.
that wasn't a samurai sword, the blade was too wide.
Wait, isn't the stuff supossed to squirt out a few seconds after the thing has been cut? Ya know, cut, wait, wait, wait, splatter.
It would have been better with a developed chick inside. And 40 gallons of blood, as Japanese animation has led me to believe our Japanese Overlords are filled with.
I came.

It also gave me a sudden craving for a turkey sandwich.

I'm not sure if they're using overtones or what, but at least one of these guys has a great future in death metal when he's tired of ice skating. If you can't get enough, here is another example, performed live.
Overtone singing, also known as overtone chanting, harmonic singing, is a type of singing in which the singer manipulates the harmonic resonances (or formants) created as air travels from the lungs, past the vocal folds, and out the lips. -Wikipedia
